Hailing from the Papanasam Sivan family Mannargudi Subramanian had his initial training from his maternal uncle Shri. Papanasam Kumar (AIR-Chennai) and persued his education in mrudangam under Srimushnam Shri Raja Rao. Presently he is under the guidance of mridangam maestro Guru Karaikudi Shri. R.Mani. As he has been accompanying concerts for the last five years and has accompanied various junior and senior artistes.

Editor of "Naadhabrahmam" a monthly music journal he is also organizing music concerts under the "Naadhabrahmam Performance Wing". Subramanian is also a Diploma Holder in Mechanical Engineering and Designing (CADD). He was teaching Mridangam in Lachateliane Residential Junior College for 4 years..

Mohan Santhanam
Coming from a family of musicians, music flows in the veins of Mohan Santhanam. His mother Smt. Saraswathi Santhanam (disciple of Mudikondan Sri. Venkatarama Iyer) is a musician, broadcaster and a reputed teacher. His aunt and uncle were the only two direct disciples to the veteran composer Sri. Koteeswara Iyer. 

Initiated into music by his mother, Mohan Santhanam came under the tutelage of Sangeetha Mahopadhyaya Prof. T.R. Subramaniam in 1982. He also receives training from renowned scholar Dr. V.V. Srivatsa and Chitravina maestro Sri. N. Ravikiran. A graded artist of AIR Chennai, he is actively performing all over the country and has performed in Malaysia and Singapore. Mohan is the recipient of several awards, prizes and scholarships. Some of them are:

  1. Awarded the Dr. S. Ramanathan's endowment prize for the best raga alapana, Music Academy, Chennai, Dec-2001

  2. Best Junior Vocalist (Tanjavur Shri S. Kalyaraman's endowment prize) Sri Krishna Sabha, 44th Gokulashtami series, August 1999

  3. First prize in the All India Pallavi Competition, Music Academy

  4. Scholarship to Young Workers in Different Cultural Fields, Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India

  5. Junior Scholarship, Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, Delhi

Mohan has also compeered in English for Worldspace Radio's Carnatic Music Programme Antar Gaandhaar.

An M.B.A. in Marketing from the Regional Engineering College, Trichy, he is 
employed as an Assistant Manager in Barry Wehmiller International Resources.
